When things get serious (2)

For the last couple of days we have had a lovely female blackcap in the garden (see photo below). She is the most feisty thing imaginable – happily seeing off our regular goldfinch, tree sparrows, robin et al with an energy and enthusiasm that belies her beauty. Watching her see off all these competitors for food was fascinating, and stimulating given yesterday’s blog entry. I hadn’t anticipated this kind of raw illustration of Darwin’s theory – but there you go. That’s the unexpected wonder of the world. Bless it…..

Left with the use of my left arm/hand only, after a serious motor cycle accident in 2005, I am learning to adapt to life with a brachial plexus injury and have developed a style of playing guitar using open tunings. I love drawing, painting and generally messing around in a fairly loose fashion. Can't describe myself as an artist, but perhaps a doodler with intent.
